On June 17th and 18th, the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) hosted a hybrid Study Visit on the Irish Public Sector Programme, following interest expressed on this topic by Member States. The Programme supports 350 public bodies and 3,700 schools in implementing energy management programmes or systems tailored to their size. Additionally, it oversees a system for public bodies to report their energy data annually.
The main objective of the Study Visit, which took place in Dublin, was to explore SEAI’s energy management, monitoring, and reporting system. It also aimed to inform the plans that Member States (MSs) are developing to mobilise for the EED and EPBD public body targets. The visit provided a brief overview of the implementation and delivery of these targets. Additionally, attending MSs provided insights into their current and planned systems for supporting public bodies and monitoring performance.
